Hmmmm…..

Ok…! so my web server went kaput last night…lost the mysql database and also all my settings for wordpress. I have now moved the the blog on to a better (although still not very powerfull) machine.

Origionaly…(and faultlessly) i was using a Pentium 3 866Mhz machine with around 700MB ram. The day after i install xampp and wordpress on it, it gave me the v symbol and keeled over.

Now im using an old ish DELL machine. Which has 1.4Ghz Celeron processor and 512MB ram. As i only installed xampp and wordpress yesterday im not sure if it will hold up but its worth a try!

And as im new to mysql php and apache it maybe a while before i get a “finished” blog template setup. So bare with me! ultimate noob learning here lol!!!

SpaceMonger - Visualise your hard drive.

SpaceMonger is a very useful tool for visualising the content of your hard disk. For example if you had a massive file hidden somewhere and you could not work out why your disk was so full this will show you instantly where the file is. You can then delete the file from the drive within SpaceMonger or use it as a guide to help you find the directory.

SpaceMonger comes as an individual .exe file and can be run from anywhere without installing. It can also be used in conjunction with portableapps suite (something I will touch on in later entries).
